SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Sunday said that the Indian agencies have been “frustrated” enough by the ongoing uprising to frame “fabricated” cases against the pro-freedom leadership to “muzzle the truthful and just voice of the people”.
“Peer Saifullah, personal secretary of Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Geelani, who is suffering from brain tumor, was rearrested while returning from Delhi after medical checkup and was subjected to the worst kind of psychological torture,” a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement issued here.
His condition deteriorated and was admitted in Sub-District Hospital Budgam.
“Doctors had advised him complete bed rest, but he was again put behind the bars, thereby torturing him to yield to their demands,” he said.
“India has been using these tactics earlier also but they have failed in past and will definitely fail in future as well. Frustrated by the present wave of uprising, Indian agencies are hell bent upon maligning the movement by framing cases against the pro-freedom people.”
He said that Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar’s son Sarwar Yaqoob was still languishing in police station Parimpora for the last one and half month.
His father was already in custody and his mother has been suffering from cancer, he said.
The spokesman strongly condemned the arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat general secretary, Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie, from his residence and shifted him to some unknown destination.
